Dr. Craig Wood DVM
Dr. Wood is a native of east Texas and grew up in Lufkin. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1988. In his first year of practice, he and his wife Julie moved to the Caribbean. He practiced there for about a year. Upon his return to Texas, he worked with his father Dr. John Wood DVM at East Texas Veterinary Clinic. In 2007 Dr. Wood built Lone Star Veterinary Clinic so he could focus on the care of small animals and exotics. He takes pride in serving Lufkin and the surrounding areas.
Dr. Liz Warren DVM
Dr. Warren was born and raised in Indiana. She attended Purdue and graduated from there in 2016. She moved to east Texas after graduation and has experience in both ER and general practice in veterinary medicine. She specializes in small animal care, internal medicine and dermatology. Dr. Warren married her husband in 2019. She has 2 step daughters and a two year old daughter that keeps her busy. Dr Warren has a variety of pets including her 23 yr old horse she brought from Indiana. In her spare time, she and her husband raise and show cattle. We are so excited to have her on our team!
Kelly Houston – Office Manager
Kelly is the winner of the title for longest time spent at LSVC. After 8 years, she has made her way to being office manager and given the dubious and sometimes frustrating task of keeping all the employees and doctors in line. Kelly grew up in a large family as a part of a set of triplets so she was no stranger to chaos and more than capable of taking on the challenge of keeping the clinic up and running smoothly. When not at work, you can find her on the beach with a margarita or spending time with her husband, pets, and two adult children.
Kyla Middleton – Vet Tech
Kyla was born in Arkansas but has been a Texas girl for a while! Originally working in an emergency hospital, Kyla made the switch and joined our team 3 years ago. Her knowledge and experience quickly had her leading our surgeries and she has been an invaluable addition to our team. Kyla is married and has her hands full with 2 teenagers and a load of frenchies and other animals that keep her busy but when she can get away, she loves to travel.
Kelcy Sciba – Receptionist/Vet Tech
Kelcy has been a part of our team for almost 6 years now and is our jack of all trades. From reception to teching to everything in between, you’ll find her all over the clinic. Originally from Tyler, Kelcy moved down to Corrigan where her grass roots are. She’s been an avid animal lover since she was young and has a soft spot for all types of exotics. In her spare time, Kelcy enjoys trying different crafts and collecting things.
Kirstyn Hyett – Tech
Kirstyn joined us a year and half ago and has been a wonderful addition. All the way from Washington, she went from a large multi doctor clinic to our humble two doctor practice and brought so much passion with her. She’s our resident extrovert and puppy talker, always willing to share her knowledge with clients and creating that client/ tech relationship. She has two fur babies, daisy and myla, and a concerning love for sharks but we are happy to have her.
Makenzey Latham – Tech
Makenzey has been interested in the vet industry long before she joined us two years ago. She began her time at LSVC as a high school job shadow after bribing Dr. Wood with some farm fresh chicken eggs! Aspiring to be a veterinarian herself one day, Kenzie’s a determined worker, splitting her time between the clinic and her schooling at SFA. In the little free time she has, Kenzie enjoys drawing and taking care of her chickens.
Paige Hooks – Kennel Tech
Paige was hired about a year ago and has done wonderfully as our kennel tech! She’s an avid doggie lover with many pups of her own and even had a dog walking business before joining LSVC so this isn’t her first rodeo. Paige is a very hard worker and does her best to keep the kennels clean, smelling great, and every resident fed and happy! When she’s not tidying up after the crew and getting her exercise walking the fur babies, Paige likes to spend her time baking and being around her family.
